jkthunder has a question in the Q&A section of this month's Star Wars Insider. Pretty cool!
In reference to her question, I believe Padme died from an acute case of Anakinitis. This is a rare blood condition believed to have originated deep in the jungles of Kashyyyk. It usually appears when someone's husband or wife becomes a dark lord of the Sith.

there you are RJ! i've been looking all over the blogosphere for you.
LOL - i no longer get the insider issues, so i'll have to pick this one up at the store. i feel so famous. pitt told me about this and posted the transcription. omg - the best non-answer i've ever gotten. ha! (yeah, they (leland? pablo?) did not answer my core question - how exactly did padme die. guess it's just another SW mystery.
well, since you're not blogging anywhere else for now, i hope to see more of you here??
here's what pitt transcribed for me:
How exactly did Padme' die? We know she lost the "will to live," but someone can't will themselves to death. Was the Force at work here?
Jkthunder via the starwars.com message boards
"In the end, the despondency over the terrible person Anakin has become breaks Padme's heart. She is unable to come to grips with her husband as a power-hungry, mass murderer who has destroyed everything she holds dear. There might even be a small part of her that blames herself for inadvertantly bringing Obi-Wan to Mustafar, though Anakin's gruesome fate at the hands of Obi-Wan remains hidden from her in her final moments. There is nothing to suggest that Padme's death is the will of the Force, other than it being the fate that Anakin envisioned earlier."
lol - whatever the heck that's supposed to mmean ^ :p
i kind of wish i worded the question differently, and was more clear in asking what the "official" reason for her death was, if there is any.
i love all the other star wars mysteries - they really challenge the imagination, but this one aspect kind of bothers me. it just seems like a weak point that was never articulated successfully, even as a "SW mystery".
If anyone wants to pose a question to possibly get published in future insiders, go to the Insider Questions thread on the sw.com message boards!
Go JK!!! Woo-hoo!! :D
Great answer, RJ! LOL
I posted a comment over at 9ff4 explaining my bloggy absence. You will probably see more of me on your blogs now.
It was Leland Chee who answered the Q&A this month. And, yes, it was a magnficent non-answer. It makes me question why they chose that question to put in the magazine. Why not choose a question where they could give a firm answer?
I almost definitely won't subscribe to Insider when this year's run is up for me. At this point, the best part is looking at the pictures of new merchandise. The articles are largely pretty useless. But, I like to see the pretty stuff.
Hooray for jk!
:D
VERY cool, jk!! I glanced through that Insider but didn't pay too close attention to it.
I don't like that non-answer!!! COME ON!!!!!!!!! Do I have to go back to the Padme's DED thread???? :D
Awesome! So cool, jk!
Ooh - I know somebody who had a question in Insider now!
Guess I'll have to start buying it again... LOL.
I can't resist posting my thing from the other place ;)
Padme: Hi honey, I love you. Come home & be nice again.
Anakin: I can't, I want to rule the galaxy.
Padme: That breaks my heart.
Anakin: Oh yeah? Break this..... *padme chokes & gags* [obi-wan steps out of the rocket] You want a piece of me?
zzzzz.....pzzzt.....ffffttt...... ow! [ded]
Obi-Wan: Padme, you're safe now.
Padme: My husband is mean. I don't want to live anymore. *ugh*
Obi-Wan: What about your babies? They need you.
Padme: whatEV
In reference to her question, I believe Padme died from an acute case of Anakinitis.
Funny stuff, RJ!
If anyone wants to pose a question to possibly get published in future insiders
Yeah, I gotta question!
Why did jkthunder get such a lame response to her question??
:D :P
