Next weekend, here in Houston, at a little movie theatre in River Oaks (called The River Oaks Theatre, of course), at their weekly midnight show, they're showing Serenity!!! Woo-hoo!!!
Having never seen it on the big screen when it was originally released, I'm completely stoked about having the chance to see it in a theatre!! :D
On top of that, the following weekend, the midnight show will be Flash Gordon!!!!! Wheeeeee!!! Or should I say, SQQQQQQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I saw it on the big screen when it came out..... many multiple times..... but it will be fantastic to see it in all its glory once again!!
*sigh* Nathan Fillion, Sam Jones and Timothy Dalton.... I'll be in heaven... ;)
Hunka hunka scifi love!! Whooo!

How cool is that?
I'm jelly, very jelly.
Have you seen the little three pack of Firefly figs (River, Mal and Jayne) that are on sale at the mo?
I bought a pack for a friend of ours who had just had a baby boy and called him Nathan (after a certain space cowboy/soon-to-be desperate housewife shagger).
As for Flash - just try not to get too emotional.
"Look, water is leaking from her eyes."
"It's called tears, it's a sign of their weakness."
ooh - so cool about serenity! does it have anything to do with the can't stop the signal org - i.e. are they doing it as a fundraiser at all?
lol - i saw serenity on the big screen, but not flash :p thats all cool though - it sounds like you have an awesome little theater that has a spot in its heart for sci-fi and genre film! how cool is that?
I have to admit, I've not seen either one....
I've heard really good things about them though! =D
It's nice to have a theatre like that in your town.

Already got 'em! I found them this weekend at my favorite crack-store (*ahem* Scifi collectibles shop)! :D
I'll try not to get overemotional at Aura's tears.... promise.
No, it's not a fundraiser as part of can't stop the signal; just a normal midnight showing that this theatre does every weekend.
They frequently show Rocky Horror as the midnight show.
Sounds shiny! Have fun! :D
still too cool. i wish we had midnight shows like that around my area. i grew up in RI, and in providence there were a couple of really awesome art house theaters that would have midnight shows (and show rocky horror, etc). this one place called the cable car is so super kewl. the entire theater was filled with couches instead of regular theater seats. kind of gross if you think about it, but they have a full bar too, so that kind of makes you forget... heh heh. i miss that place!
sounds very cool! Have a great time!
